QT8 district in Milan was born in postwar years as a “pilot project” for a new conception of neighbourhood and architecture, and it is the starting point of my PhD research. Although it is a context historically distant from our present, it could be considered to make a reflection on some themes that are still relevant today. Near the architectural, artistic, technical experimentations there were also innovative studies on solutions for environmental protection, climate and pollution control, to improve citizens’ living conditions, health, and well-being. This paper therefore proposes a short reflection on guidelines and strategies that have been thought and put in place, starting from the large presence of the green (private and public) areas into the urban space as a common value, raising citizens awareness on the importance of these themes for their future and for the city of Milan’s one.

Abstract
QT8 district in Milan was born in postwar years as a “pilot project” for a new conception of neighbourhood and architecture, and it is the starting point of my PhD research. Although it is a context historically distant from our present, it could be considered to make a reflection on some themes that are still relevant today. Near the architectural, artistic, technical experimentations there were also innovative studies on solutions for environmental protection, climate and pollution control, to improve citizens’ living conditions, health, and well-being. This paper therefore proposes a short reflection on guidelines and strategies that have been thought and put in place, starting from the large presence of the green (private and public) areas into the urban space as a common value, raising citizens awareness on the importance of these themes for their future and for the city of Milan’s one.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
